About VHL SDH

The VHL Social Determinants of Health (VHL SDH) provides access to dynamic and updated scientific, technical and educational sources of information, national and international, related to the Social Determinants of Health (SDH), operating in an integrated manner with the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and making use of their methodologies and tools.

The access to the contents related to SDH existing in this network of sources of information, as well as, its update, is done automatically, using the tools developed by VHL. In the case of existing SDH Resources on the WEB its update is done by CEPI-DSS using the tool LIS (Health Information Locator) of VHL.

The VHL SDH is linked to the Portal on SDH (www.dssbr.org) which aims to provide a space for information, referral and communication between different actors in government and civil society related to the definition and implementation of policies and programs to combat health inequities through action on SDH.

The VHL SDH is operated by the Centre for Studies, Policies and Information on Social Determinants of Health (CEPI-DSS), National School of Public Health Sergio Arouca (ENSP), Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ). Its Advisory Committee consists of:

– Aluisio Barros – Federal University of Pelotas
– Claudia Travassos – Oswaldo Cruz Foundation
– Marco Akerman – Faculty of Medicine of ABC
